Every Hoefgen Canoe is designed and constructed with the same
features. The Profile view reveals a hull having the classic
"Chippewa" design with recurved stems.
|
 |
Fine entry lines part the water smoothly. This feature, combined with
a shallow arch bottom and straight keel line, results in a sleek,
easy- paddling craft with the strength, stability, and maneuverability
for all-around use.
|
 |
The unique flare at the bow and stern enables the canoe to rise over
waves in rough water rather than dive through them, as well as
providing secondary stability when tipped.
| |
 |
Fiberglass hulls are constructed of hand-laid fiberglass cloth and roving to make
a superior, lightweight, and durable canoe. DuPont™ KEVLAR® hulls have a minimum of four layers of Kevlar® fabric. All Hoefgen Canoes are built using vinyl ester resin. Airlite cross-ribs are used
to stiffen the bottom.
|
 |
Other features include urethane foam-filled
flotation chambers, a premium grade gel-coat exterior, and
maintenamce-free anodized aluminum trim. White ash-framed seats woven
with cord allow air ventilation for cool, comfortable seating.
|
 |
Standard gel-coat colors blue, red, marsh grass brown and burgundy.

Since 1969, the Hoefgens have been building beautiful hand-crafted
canoes at their location on the shores of Lake Michigan, four miles
north of Menominee. They live and work in a community with a
tradition of boating and boat building, and have been taking their
Hoefgen canoes through wild waters year after year. The Hoefgens know
canoes and they know the waters, and they build better canoes because
of it. Exceptionally fine craftsmen and dedicated to their art, the
Hoefgens truly believe they have a responsibility to build the
strongest, safest, most navigable canoes they possibly can. They
insist on the best, and so should you!
The Hoefgens want you to enjoy their canoes for the rest of your life!
Every Hoefgen canoe is guaranteed for one year from the date of
purchase, and they stand behind them. If anything goes wrong because
of defective workmanship or materials, it will be repaired free of
charge (all transportation costs to be paid by the owner). Other
repairs and replacement parts are available at nominal cost.
